Being corny ♥

So I just saw this on facebook: You are an acid, and I am like litmus; everytime I meet you I turn bright red. It's so corny but yet so suitable for students from a science school. I actually laughed out loud when I read this .. wow, it's not that easy to laugh out loud from reading something from facebook, especially when it's this pick-up line(?) which I've heard thousands of times before. Maybe I'm just amused too easily.. I've got to say, I'm a real sucker for corny stuff. Everyone else just seems to think it's immature and stupid, but I think that depending on who it comes from and in what context, it can be super cute. Seriously I could melt if someone did all the corny stuff to me that I saw in dramas xD hahah There's my wishful thinking again. But really, I don't know how people can think all corniness is homo. Obviously there's an extent to which the goodness of it can go (and after that I guess I might start gagging too) but hehehee ... It's sweet. heheheheh You're sweet.

Jack Johnson - Better Together

Do you ever get the feeling of butterflies in your stomach? No, it's more than them just being in there. It's almost as if they're tickling your insides, testing to see if you can feel them laughing. I don't know if my explanation really conveys what I've been feeling so much of lately. The "butterflies" usually make me feel one of two ways; they can make me feel like I'm so afraid, as if I'm witnessing myself the moment before a car contacts my body and I'm about to explode into nothingness - that's the bad kind. The feeling that I've been experiencing so much these days is more like the thrill you get when you're next in line to go on the scariest rollercoaster ride you know. You're so happy that you made it there, but you're feeling a mixture of freight, joy and anticipation of what's to come once you're on the actual ride. Lately, getting this feeling is as common as the number of the times I smile at someone, but it feels new and unfamiliar everytime. I'm glad it exists. I'm glad that you exist.

Life is good

Lately I've been FMLing so much. So much that its not even funny anymore. I've been fmling about school, fmling about my room being so messy that I don't want to clean it up, fmling about jamming my toe between my chair and the table for the third time this week, fmling about lack of money, etc. Despite all these annoying occurrences, there's only one thing that I need which will completely cheer me up. My face will light up so much that if I walked outside I could probably attract bugs to it. I'd be so happy that my happy vibes could reach the furthest person in the city and cheer them up to. I would become so happy that even while sitting on this chair, staring at the screen with only one window open, I could keep smiling. Life is good.

I'm Yours

Awww I randomly stumbled upon this video on Youtube and it's so cute! Especially at 1:17. But I can say one thing about this kid - he's going to be soo awesome at playing the ukulele when he's older, just like Jake Shimabukuro ♥

It feels good to inspire someone else to do something, no matter how small the deed may be.

Ahh I'm still FML-ing over english. I can't believe I did a detailed study on Nineteen Eighty-Four as a World Lit piece :(

I don't think I'll be sleeping tonight. I start work at 7am tomorrow morning ... Double FML. Argghhh

Anyways. I think sometimes I'm too open about my "secrets" to too many people. haha I guess then .. they're not really secrets at all. Maybe that's not even the problem, maybe it's the fact that I trust people so easily and hence can open up to them quickly too. I never thought that as a bad thing until other people strongly advised me against trusting everyone I meet. Then after hearing the same thing so many times, I guess in the end I was a little influenced by what they told me ... And I've changed and other people have changed! It's sad to see how some people can be nice to another person, but be stabbing their back the moment they turn around. It's not like I haven't done this before .. I used to absolutely hate this one manager of mine at work, but if I wasn't nice then she wouldn't be nice back and my life would end up a lot worse by being mean to her =[ Plenty of people do this every day to their so-called friends, colleagues, etc. Ahh I don't want this to happen to me! And I don't want to do it to other people. For me, even if I don't really like someone I have trouble expressing that though ... That means that I would unintentionally be stabbing their back? AHH I should just like everyone =.= Problem solved.

Hi
I opened the screen door yesterday and my cat got out  and has been missing since then so I was wondering if you are not to  busy you could make a poster for me. It has to be A4 and I will  photocopy it and put it around my suburb this afternoon.

This is the only photo of her I have she answers to the name  Missy and is black and white and about 8 months old. missing on Harper  street and my phone number.
Thanks Shan

Dear Shannon,
That is shocking news. Luckily I was  sitting down when I read your email and not half way up a ladder or  tree. How are you holding up? I am surprised you managed to attend work  at all what with thinking about Missy out there cold, frightened and  alone... possibly lying on the side of the road, her back legs squashed  by a vehicle, calling out "Shannon, where are you?"  Although I have two clients expecting completed work this  afternoon, I will, of course, drop everything and do whatever it takes  to facilitate the speedy return of Missy.

Regards, David.

Dear Shannon,
I never said I don't like cats. Once,  having been invited to a party, I went clothes shopping beforehand and  bought a pair of expensive G-Star boots. They were two sizes too small  but I wanted them so badly I figured I could just wear them without  socks and cut my toenails very short. As the party was only a few blocks  from my place, I decided to walk. After the first block, I lost all  feeling in my feet. Arriving at the party, I stumbled into a guy named  Steven, spilling Malibu & coke onto his white Wham 'Choose Life'  t-shirt, and he punched me. An hour or so after the incident, Steven sat  down in a chair already occupied by a cat. The surprised cat clawed and  snarled causing Steven to leap out of the chair, slip on a rug and  strike his forehead onto the corner of a speaker; resulting in a two  inch open gash. In its shock, the cat also defecated, leaving Steven  with a wet brown stain down the back of his beige cargo pants. I liked  that cat.

 Attached poster as requested.

Dear Shannon,
Having worked with designers for a few years now, I would have  assumed you understood, despite our vague suggestions otherwise, we do  not welcome constructive criticism. I don't come downstairs and tell you  how to send text messages, log onto Facebook and look out of the  window. I am willing to overlook this faux pas due to you no doubt being  preoccupied with thoughts of Missy attempting to make her way home  across busy intersections or being trapped in a drain as it slowly fills  with water. I spent three days down a well once but that was just for  fun.

I have amended and attached the poster as per your instructions.

Dear Shannon,
I don't have a cat. I once agreed to  look after a friend's cat for a week but after he dropped it off at my  apartment and explained the concept of kitty litter, I kept the cat in a  closed cardboard box in the shed and forgot about it. If I wanted to  feed something and clean faeces, I wouldn't have put my mother in that  home after her stroke. A week later, when my friend came to collect his  cat, I pretended that I was not home and mailed the box to him.  Apparently I failed to put enough stamps on the package and he had to  collect it from the post office and pay eighteen dollars. He still goes  on about that sometimes, people need to learn to let go.

I have attached the amended version of your poster as per your  detailed instructions.

I know, but that one is cute. As Missy has quite possibly met  any one of several violent ends, it is possible you might get a better  cat out of this. If anybody calls and says "I haven't seen your orange  cat but I did find a black and white one with its hind legs run over by a  car, do you want it?" you can politely decline and save yourself a  costly veterinarian bill.

I knew someone who had a basset  hound that had its hind legs removed after an accident and it had to  walk around with one of those little buggies with wheels. If it had been  my dog I would have asked for all its legs to be removed and replaced  with wheels and had a remote control installed. I could charge  neighbourhood kids for rides and enter it in races. If I did the same  with a horse I could drive it to work. I would call it Steven.

English Breafast Tea with Milk & Sugar

Before, when (typical Asian) green tea was the only type of tea I had ever tried, I thought that putting milk into tea would be disgusting. The thought of sugar being in there was even worse, like mixing coke with chicken soup. Yep, it sounded that weird to me .. but one day, my manager at work made me try her English Breakfast Tea, which had one sugar and a tint of milk in it ..  and it was abso-bloody-lutely delicious. Then I thought to myself "Hey... Screw green tea, Imma get myself some of this awesome tasting tea". So then once I came back to the Coast with Malcolm and realized that I had to wait for an hour for my Dad to come and pick me up, I decided to go grocery shopping. I ended up spending about $60 on groceries .. Crap, that's almost the same price as my formal shoes and accessories which I bought yesterday. Amongst the $60 worth of goods I bought, a 100 pack of English Breakfast Tea was part of it. Yep, 100! That's probably enough to last me til the end of the year, I hope.

On a side note... I think I broke through the new layer of skin which was forming on top of my top ear piercing. It really hurt. Ouchhh.

Marriage ... Really?

The quote that I would like to draw attention to today is: Isn't it weird how the person you will marry is walking the Earth right now? I never really thought about that until I saw it on Facebook.. But I guess it is pretty cool that my future husband is in fact walking the same Earth that I am treading each and every day. That's assuming that I don't become some weird pedophile and start stalking some poor child Oo" Well the probability of that happening is 0.000000000000000000000000001%. I wonder if he'll be someone I already know. Or maybe he'll be someone I won't meet for another 20 years? Bleh. I've lost interest in this topic already.

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel closer to someone mentally if I'm close to them physically. That sounds so weird, but like ... well I am generally a very touchy person. I wasn't always like that - I think I started to become overly touchy in grade 8..? Now, if I can link arms with them and hug then often, and just have little shows of physical affection like that then I feel a lot closer to someone than if I never do that. The touchiness was a habit I formed, and from it I've completely changed my mindset of judging(?) how close I am to someone. Of course, it's no the only factor which I base the value of my friendships on, but I think it's an alright measure of seeing how close I am to someone. For example, I rarely make any contact with my work colleagues unless they initiate it, whereas with friends that I rarely meet I will almost always greet them with a warm hug and stay close for the entire time that we're together.

FML The rest of my post got deleted because of shit internet connections.

Well that's all for now lovelies, because I can't be bothered to re-type what was here about 20 minutes ago. xoxo

Take me away

Gmarket Haul!

I think that my sister, friends and I combined have probably put through at least 10 orders together. Well, this time I put through two separate orders (yep, cuz the overseas basket limit of 30 wasn't enough) and received both packages relatively quickly. The great thing about Gmarket is that they ship all orders via EMS so as long as the sellers in Korea send the items to the Gmarket warehouse relatively quickly, you can get your order within a week! Luckily I had only one out of stock item, which was kindly refunded to my sister's credit card.

Another really good thing about Gmarket is that they have a lot of discount coupons everywhere. Some sellers email them to me, and a lot of big brand names often have big sales. I've noticed that cosmetic brands in particular have lots of promotional sales. Also, you can exchange G-stamps for discount coupons!

The only downside to Gmarket is that if you only purchase a few items, the shipping cost if often not worth it. However after Gmarket created a Facebook page, I found that it was a lot easier to request for the international shipping weight to be reduced. This is great, because sometimes the weights of the items are really over-estimated.. For example, I've seen sticker sheets which are estimated to be 0.5kg-1kg. Really? They weigh like 10 grams ... So yeah, it's great that Gmarket has opened up the facebook page, because it makes communication a lot easier.

Also, Gmarket is really careful with the packaging of the items. Pretty much everything apart from clothes gets packaged in HEAPS of bubble wrap so I've never had to worry about any of my items being damaged before getting to me, which is awesome!

Yeps so I'll review my purchases =D

7/10: Fake leather jacket. The colour looks really different in the photo because the lighting in my room was weird and I took the photo with my iPhone. But the colour is true to what was shown on the site. Well, the site for the jacket had measurements and I made sure that they were the right measurements for me when I bought it. However, I think they sent a smaller size... Apart from the size difference, I think the jacket's quite comfortable and looks flattering. I guess it's just more motivation for me to lose weight!

9/10: Grey Whereis shirt. This shirt was pretty much exactly what I was expecting, except it's a lot smaller than I expected. I thought it'd be a huge baggy shirt I could wear at home judging by how it was shown in the pictures on Gmarket, but not to worry! This means I can wear it out =D

10/10: White board markers. Urgh once again, the lighting is bad and my whiteboard looks blue. Well, this pack of whiteboard markers only cost me about $5 including the shipping for it. Needless to say, I was very impressed because I wasn't really expecting much of them since they were so cheap.

10/10: Etude BB Cream. Well firstly, I have to say... I absolutely love the mirror which came with the BB cream. It was free, and I definitely wasn't expecting anything free since the BB cream was cheap in the first place. I first tried the BB cream by rubbing it onto my wrist, and my wrist became extremely pink, so I was worried that the BB cream would make my whole face even more pink than it already is. However, this was not the case. Once I applied it to my face, it looked fine, like normal tinted moisturizer. Umm and supposedly BB cream has whitening effects? Not sure, i didn't really research that far into it..

10/10 : Etude "First Snow Ice Cotton Toner". I haven't actually tried the toner yet, so I can't say much about the actual product itself. The box in the middle is actually full of cotton pads to use with the toner, which came free. I also received the water bottle which is on the right for free! Yay, I'll definitely be using it. I'm really pleased with Etude products, and Etude is really generous in including free objects.

Edit: Okay, so I tried the toner and it is amazing. Well, it's my first time using a toner so I don't know what it's supposed to feel like ... but ..okay you know how normally toners are liquid? Well this toner is called 'First Snow Ice Cotton Toner' and it's not liquid, it's quite stringy and it's really like having little bits of snow. I'm not sure how to accurately describe it, but let me tell you it feels really refreshing and it's funto use.

---- : Innisfree Green tea products. I paid 16,000 won for this lot, and I believe it was one of Innisfree's promotional deals at the time that this was bought. On the boxes, it says "Green tea pure skin, green tea pure lotion, green tea pure deluxe kit" and the little samples are Green tea cleansers. In the Green Tea Pure Deluxe Kit, there are little tubs of Green Tea Pure Lotion, Green Tea Pure Skin, Green Tea Seed Seum, Green Tea Pure Cream and Green Tea Sleeping pack. Yes, this all seems like an overload of green tea products, and I initially wasn't sure what order to use the products. Conveniently on the boxes, it says to use in this order: Serum → Skin → Lotion → Eye Cream → Cream. Yep, I don't know what it all means but I guess I'll just have to experiment and try it all out sometime. However for now, I think I might just finish off my normal moisturizer and try the Etude toner. The green tea products smell really nice, and the tubs of lotion, etc have been sealed with the plastic air tight seal, so I'm not too worried about leaving the products aside for a couple of weeks at least. Well my knowledge isn't all that great around these kinds of things so I'll get advice off my friends =] The thongs were free!

10/10: Bras. I think I ordered at least 10 pairs of bras, and I received two free pairs of bra/undie sets! I now have so much underwear that I think there's enough to last me at least another couple of years. I'm in love with Korean underwear because it's so much cheaper, and a lot more comfortable than the branded underwears I've tried such as Lovable, which sell for around $40 per bra (and that's for the bra alone!).

7/10: Ahh I'm having a mindblank, forgot what these are called. Anyways, the material is stretchy and very comfortable. The grey pants and the black outfit is made of good material, but I don't think I could wear the grey pants in winter.. They're a little thin for the cold weather. The very right one, which is purple, is especially comfortable to wear at home because the shirt is loose (it's huge) but the pants fit very nicely.

10/10: Ribbon flats. I actually owned a pair of the exact same flats previously, but after going to a friend's birthday party and absolutely ruining them by drowning them in sand and water, I couldn't wear them again. I liked them so much that I couldn't resist purchasing another pair. They are absolutely adorable and don't hurt my feet, even after hours of walking in them!

---- : Iphone cases + free screen protector. These aren't actually for me, but since they're in clear packaging I'll do a short review on them anyway. I saw the pictures of the cases because I had to add them to the basket for my friend, and I'd say that they are true to picture. Also, they don't feel flimsy and the Spongebob case in particular feels very sturdy and is made of good material.

9/10: Scarves. I especially love the black scarf in the middle picture in the top row. Hmm it's a little hard to see, but it's checkered with varying sizes of squares/rectangles. The blue scarf is really nice too, but I didn't realize that my sister had exactly the same design, with the exact same colour! What a coincidence.. And the one with two colours - that's two scarves put together. They're made of the same material as the brown one, and I think they're called Pashmere scarves or something like that. The material is really thin, but the scarf is very wide which makes up for the thinness.

10/10 : Jewellery box. This consists of long strips of plastic, which are put together to form the individual compartments. It can be taken apart, meaning that you can choose how big to make the compartments, which is convenient if you want to put headbands, necklaces, rings, bracelets, etc in there. Also, the umm .. "lock" is really handy, in case you drop the box and don't want everything to fly out. A great thing about this kind of jewellery box is that you can customize it, put stickers on it, draw on it, etc to make it suit yourself.

I'm really pleased with my gmarket order this time. I'll definitely be relying on Gmarket for a lot of my needs while I'm in university, and for even longer after that. =]

Oh yeah ... So I linked blogger with Hotmail. I'm guessing that means that my blog is 100% public now? Sorry for those who didn't know that I had a blog? Well, there's a reason for everything - but now .. I guess it doesn't matter that it's public. =]

My song for today:

And for those in trouble in life .... Good luck! You know that you have friends by your side who would be willing to do anything the moment you need them~ Hwaiting!

Hitch

"Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away."
