Happy New Year :)

I was annoyed at having to start the new year at work, because:
  1. It was unexpectedly busy. We thought we'd be doing $400 hours, but we started off with a $790 hour. And almost everyone wanted coffee with their orders. And my coffee machine broke down. Aaarrrghhh.
  2. It's Maccas, what more of an explanation do you need?
But I came home afterwards, and late in the evening, Jordan, Kristy, Esther and I decided to meet up for dinner. We met at 'Vie' (Versace at Marina Mirage) and enjoyed a meal + dessert together, which was nice. And it really was. You know how in movies, there's that scene where a small group of people are sitting around a table in a decent restaurant, but the focus is just on talking and each other and laughing and enjoying the moment, rather than the food? It was just like that. It was nice :)

haha I feel like we've formed out own exclusive group, kind of. Like we don't mind if other people join us (in fact, we're happy and love when they do) but we ARE the group. I like that I'm a part of something. People always have their own group - the dent group, or that housemate group (where everyone lives together or practically lives together), etc. I used to just be close to individual friends, rather than groups ... hehe what I'm saying is, I'm just happy to have A group :) and it's a girls group (plus Jordan, but he's practically a girl).

Usually I reflect on the past year before thinking ahead, but all I can think is that 2014 will probably end up being a better year. 2013 wasn't so bad - it's not like anything happened, but maybe that's the problem. It was just sort of a mediocre year. Probably not a year which I will remember very well in the future (unless I decide to read my diary). I guess I just want to be happier. I don't want to just exist. I want to feel like existing actually means something (both to others and myself). People tell me they miss me and love me, but they don't really show it, you know? They say it, but they never seem to notice my absence. I don't want to be that girl anymore .. I want to leave a mark. Maybe that could be my new years resolution. I want to mean more.
